The DS9900 series is in fact able to instantly capture dense bar codes, poorly printed, damaged, wrinkled, faded, distorted, with poor contrast and transparencies, as well as electronic bar codes on poorly lit displays.

A wide field of view makes presentation scanning easier than ever, allowing workers to focus more on customers rather than on the correct alignment of items.
RFID technology applied to the POS:
If you already use RFID technology in the supply chain, with the RFID model you can close the circle, capturing items with RFID tags at the POS. Cash transactions are considerably simplified, as employees can scan multiple items at the same time, in the absence of a pointing line. The acquisition of RFID tags guarantees the real-time visibility of the inventory necessary for a timely re-ordering of items in exhaustion and for the analysis of trends. The player works with only 5 VAC and does not require an external power source. Furthermore, the free RFID data conversion software allows to read RFID tags without modifying the existing POS application.
SPECIFICALLY THOUGHT FOR HYBRID SCAN: Dynamic alternation between swing and hands-free modes.
A patent-pending capacitive touch sensor and an accelerometer work in synergy to instantly activate the tilt mode as soon as an employee holds the scanner. Two scanners in one: The handheld and presentation modes have different scanning requirements. For this reason the DS9900 series has been specifically designed for use in both modes. In presentation mode, the scan range is limited to prevent unintentional scanning of nearby items. In handheld mode, the scan radius is extended up to 62 cm / 24 inches to easily scan the items in the cart.
