Thor VM1
In today's supply chain, the only constant is change. The interruptions, both in the short term as a forklift failure, and in the long term as a natural disaster, are a fact. The supply chains most prepared to adapt to these breaks will use mobile computing technology that gives them more flexibility. Thor's VMC (Thor-Vehicle-Mount Computer) computer, the 10th generation of VMC developed by Honeywell, offers unprecedented flexibility and, with it, innovations in the supply chain.
The VM1 combines a fast 1.6 GHz Atom Z530 processor, WWAN, WLAN and Bluetooth® wireless connectivity and a Microsoft® Windows CE 6.0 or Windows® Embedded Standard operating system, with three breakthrough innovations that create time savings and revenue gains of immediate productivity. A field-replaceable front panel allows the end user to repair the most common break point of vehicle-mounted computers or convert a standard temp unit to a freezer-ready unit in just a few minutes with just one screwdriver. The VM1's Quick Mount Smart Dock separates the computer from the power supply, allowing a user to unhook the unit from a forklift truck and reload it onto a second vehicle without losing a single transaction. And the VM1 power-up control feature allows the user to set power-saving preferences to save time on startup and extend vehicle battery life.
Dramatic productivity gains become possible when innovation breaks conventional thinking, even in the harshest environments.
